Australian artist and Palm Beach local, Karen Hick, has been painting seascapes and landscapes for over 18 years. She began painting while living in New Zealand in 2006, developing a love for mark making and layered techniques that bring texture and depth to her compositions.

Her artworks are created intuitively, inviting viewers to imagine where each scene might be. Deeply influenced by her Northern Beaches surroundings, whether the bush reserves or the coastline—Karen captures light and movement in a way that shifts with the mood of the day. As she describes, “I love creating light and movement in my artworks, depending on where the piece is positioned in a home, it takes on different moods throughout the day and night.”
