Sylvia Harvey-Walker
Sylvia Harvey-Walker is an artist and illustrator whose creative journey has been shaped by a lifelong love of design, colour, and storytelling. Raised in a family of creatives—kitchen designers, airbrush artists, jewellery makers, and gem cutters—she grew up surrounded by lively conversations and inventive problem-solving. Encouraged by her mother to embrace new experiences, Sylvia pursued Graphic Design at Billy Blue College of Design, leading to a diverse career across the fashion and footwear industries in roles spanning design, product development, and sales.
In 2015, she launched and later sold her own organic baby clothing brand, but it was illustrating two children’s books, When Mum Went to Heaven and Charlotte’s Shoes, that revealed her true artistic passion and sparked a transformative shift into painting and illustration.
Through Harvey-Walker Studios, Sylvia creates unique, modern artworks that capture texture, emotion, and meaning—pieces that resonate far beyond mass-produced prints. Her art reflects her belief that a home should tell the story of the people who live within it: welcoming, calming, invigorating, and deeply personal.
Inspired by her own home renovation journey and her desire for authentic art that carried soul and character, Sylvia’s work is designed to make every space feel alive and reflective of identity. Between raising two energetic sons, navigating the beautiful chaos of family life, and consuming plenty of coffee, Sylvia continues to pour her creative energy into works that evoke connection and belonging.
