Meet the Artists

At My Little Art Studio Palm Beach, creativity is at the heart of everything we do — from our workshops and art classes to our coastal-inspired gallery walls. Our mission has always been to make art accessible, uplifting, and deeply connected to our community. One of the ways we bring this to life is by showcasing the work of talented Australian artists, many of whom are based right here on the Northern Beaches.

Each artist brings a unique style, story, and energy to the studio — from vibrant botanicals and serene seascapes to bold abstracts and whimsical prints. Their art transforms our Palm Beach space into a constantly evolving gallery filled with colour, creativity, and inspiration.

Here’s a closer look at some of the incredible artists whose work you’ll find on display.

Julia Ockert – Painterly Florals and Dreamy Palettes

Australian artist Julia Ockert creates pieces that are nothing short of breathtaking. Her fine art prints and original paintings explore colour, texture, and form through expressive brushwork and emotive compositions.

Julia’s floral works are instantly recognisable — soft yet powerful, with layers of pastel tones contrasted by bursts of rich, painterly colour. Each piece has an energy that seems to dance off the canvas, bringing warmth and vibrancy to any space.

Printed on premium 308gsm Hahnemühle paper, her limited-edition fine art prints have become a studio favourite. One of the most popular pieces in our gallery, Peonies in Teal, perfectly captures Julia’s mastery of contrast — the harmony between light and shadow, warmth and coolness, delicacy and strength.

Jade Fisher – Botanical Joy and Playful Patterns

Jade Fisher’s art is like a breath of fresh air — joyful, free, and full of life. Based in Australia, Jade is known for her signature style of simplifying botanicals into striking forms filled with playful colour and personality.

Her work celebrates the beauty of the natural world, inspired by blooming gardens, long summer days, and the patterns of everyday life. Each piece evokes happiness and nostalgia, reminding us of the simple pleasures that surround us.

In our Palm Beach studio, Jade’s You and Me in the Summertime series is a crowd favourite — a colourful expression of warmth and connection that perfectly fits our coastal vibe. Her art adds a touch of cheer to any room, making it easy to see why she’s one of our most-loved artists.

Sylvia Harvey-Walker – Emotional Depth and Textural Beauty

Northern Beaches artist Sylvia Harvey-Walker has a remarkable ability to capture feeling and story through her art. A painter and illustrator, Sylvia’s creative journey has taken her from the world of graphic design and fashion into fine art, where she now paints full-time from her home studio.

Her work is textured, layered, and emotionally resonant — exploring themes of nature, nostalgia, and human connection. Sylvia’s pieces often combine muted tones with moments of brightness, creating a sense of calm and contemplation.

One of her standout works, Palms and Papaya, recently sold to a local Whale Beach couple — a perfect example of her ability to blend tropical vibrancy with modern elegance. Sylvia’s art is as soulful as it is stylish, making her one of the most collected artists in our gallery.

Lauren Ward’s work celebrates the magic of nature through expressive mark-making and bold, vibrant colour. Her floral studies are loose and gestural, filled with energy and movement that reflects her love for the natural world.

Lauren’s pieces radiate joy — from bright coral blooms to sun-drenched fields of wildflowers, each painting invites you to pause and smile. Her work is a constant reminder of how art can capture emotion and translate it into colour.

Displayed in our Palm Beach gallery, Lauren’s prints have quickly become bestsellers, loved for their ability to brighten a room and lift the spirit.

Through Our Lens – Travel and Landscape Photography

Husband-and-wife duo Through Our Lens (Edgars and Norah) bring a fresh perspective to travel and landscape photography. Their carefully composed images go beyond standard travel snapshots — they capture a sense of place, light, and emotion that transports the viewer straight into the scene.

From the sun-dappled coastlines of Australia to serene ocean horizons, their photographic prints bring the outdoors inside. Each piece tells a story of adventure and appreciation for the world’s natural beauty, making them the perfect fit for our coastal gallery aesthetic.

Their prints, available in a range of sizes, have become a favourite among Northern Beaches locals looking for statement pieces that connect home décor with the spirit of travel and exploration.

Jake Graham – Urban Edge Meets Coastal Calm

Bringing a bold contrast to the gallery’s softer coastal tones, Jake Graham’s art blends urban street style with the relaxed energy of the beaches. Using acrylic and aerosol, Jake’s works are layered, textural, and full of attitude — often featuring tropical motifs reimagined through a modern, graffiti-inspired lens.

His piece Tropical Jungle Budgie is one of the most talked-about artworks in our collection — vibrant, playful, and utterly unique. It’s the perfect example of how art can spark conversation, add personality, and make a statement.

Karen Hick – Light, Movement, and Coastal Serenity

Australian artist and Palm Beach local Karen Hick has been painting seascapes and landscapes for over 18 years. Her journey began in New Zealand in 2006, where she developed a passion for mark making and layered techniques that give her paintings their signature texture and depth.

Karen’s artworks are created intuitively, inviting viewers to imagine their own stories within each scene. Deeply inspired by the Northern Beaches — from bush reserves to ocean viewpoints — she captures light and movement in a way that shifts with the time of day.

As Karen explains, “I love creating light and movement in my artworks. Depending on where the piece is positioned in a home, it takes on different moods throughout the day and night.”Her seascapes are tranquil yet dynamic — a beautiful reflection of coastal living.

Elsie Houston – Surf, Sunshine, and Storytelling Through Art

Elsie Houston, an Australian artist and illustrator originally from London, brings a joyful, sun-soaked perspective to coastal art. After years working in design and advertising, she shifted her focus fully to her first love — painting.

Her bright, beachy artworks capture the carefree spirit of Sydney’s Northern Beaches, celebrating moments of sunshine, surf, and simplicity. Elsie’s work evokes happy memories of summer days and the natural beauty of ocean life.

She says, “These days, I’m leaning fully into what I love most — creating tropical artworks that bring a sense of escape and capture happy memories of the ocean in coastal homes.”

Madi Made is the creative vision of Madi, a Florida-born ceramic artist who now calls Sydney’s Northern Beaches home. With a background in architecture and business, Madi combines thoughtful design with a love of craft to create timeless, one-of-a-kind ceramic pieces.

Each item is handmade and unique — no two pieces are ever the same. Her collections, inspired by travel and the natural beauty of the coast, are filled with warmth, charm, and intention.

What began as hand-drawn cards for family has evolved into a flourishing small business. For Madi, it’s all about creativity, connection, and offering gifts that feel personal and meaningful. Her ceramics are a perfect addition to our studio — tactile, beautiful, and made with love.
